Political Blog

I describe myself as a Bleeding Heart Conservative. To understand what that means, think of Ronald Reagan's demeanor when he addressed the nation following the Space Shuttle Challenger tragedy.

Although I'm a native Hoosier, I lived in Orange County, CA, from 1978 to 2005. As a result, I consider Southern California to be "back home". Now, I'm  a resident of Southwest Washington. I found the move from the political environment of Orange County (the nation's Reddest County) to the very Blue political environment of the Portland, OR/Vancouver, WA area, to be quite challenging. However, I remained determined to assure that Conservative views are heard, regardless of my circumstances. Thus, much of my early blogging focused on political issues. That was noticed by Scott Graves, the original Editor of the now defunct Red County. I became a Contributor for that Web-based publication in September of 2008. I've now cross-posted those Red County articles here on A Few Days With Figgins.
